RICH GAITI

Paintings of another time, another place. Rich’s ethereal painting commemorate the west, the life and rituals of the Native American people, the cowboys, the horses and the buffalo. The paintings are about motion, change, evolution, and extinction. Something emerges, something disappears. A horse runs free on the open range, a buffalo oversees the plains that he rules, a proud people enjoy a rich culture, and a oneness with the land. The paintings capture a time long gone and celebrate a unique time in American history- they are dedicated to a simpler life. The series is executed in a wide range of media including oils, acrylic, sand and mixed media. Many of the techniques employed have resonance with the ancient traditions.
