JUDITH WILLIAMS

Working exclusively in terra cotta clay. Judith slowly evolved from sculpting female figures and biblical woman to her present interest in Indian women and children. Judith was so deeply impressed by the Indians dignity and pride that she soon began to incorporate various Indian pottery techniques into her sculpture. Such techniques as coil building, burnishing the surface, and producing blackware sculpture by reduction pit firing, created a feeling of being spiritually allied to the Indian culture and their love of the earth.
