JOSEPH ROTELLA

Joseph studied the sculptor’s craft in the studios of Pietrasanta in the famed Carrara region and learned from teachers who passed on to him the skills and techniques of the great Italian masters. This rigorous and demanding classical training became the foundation for his approach to creation. Joseph described his pursuit of art as a grand experiment and a way he can translate his world into images and form.
Joseph's accomplished sculptures are inspired by a wide range of themes and subjects, including, mother and child, aquatic life, the human form, biblical references and more. Not only has he won blue ribbons for his work in countless art shows and earned his prestigious inclusion as one of 288 contemporary living sculptors but his work is displayed in one the most revered art collections of the world, the Vatican Palace.
