Imagine the blonde and pastel colors of our American Southwest and you can easily place yourself within the walls of Forms Gallery, one of Delray Beach’s most popular galleries. The artwork at Forms is a beautiful blending of ancient crafts and meaningful traditions with a contemporary feel. This is not your typical Southwest gallery and, after nineteen years in business, it can be considered one of the finest contemporary southwest galleries in the United States.

Featuring more than 55 extraordinary artists, a veriable “Who’s Who in the Southwest Art World” are represented here. Several even have works in the Smithsonian’s permanent collections of Southwest Art. Gallery owners Dan and Carole Lynn started their gallery and traveled to that region, buying sculpture, masks, pottery, flat art, jewelry and hand-painted furniture from artists they now call friends. “We get really close to our artists” says Carole. “They are about our age, so in a way, we are one another’s contemporaries. They entrust us with their work, which they treat like their children.”

The Lynn’s make a concerted effort to find works by new and emerging artists and the search takes them to virtually every gallery in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Sedona, Santa Fe and Taos. “We look for contemporary artists who will compliment the ones we already represent, but who can also stand on their own..” Ninety percent of the artists they meet are not represented by anyone in Florida and the galleries that do represent them are very protective. “The most difficult part of the search usually lies in physically finding the artists we like. We usually find them by asking our other artist friends,” says Dan.

Forms also features outstanding contemporary jewelry in gold or silver set with precious and semi-precious stones. You will find works by artists, such as Elizabeth and Don Buck from Reve’s jewelry, known for their contemporary earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and rings or the Kate Collections known for her new rich amber jewelry. They also carry a beautiful assortment of rings using coral, turquoise and sugilite. These pieces are not only beautiful to look at but very soothing to hold and feel with the fingers. Every piece is truly  “wearable art.”

Forms is located at 415 E. Atlantic Avenue Delray Beach, Florida.
The gallery is open 7 days a week.

Give yourself a treat and discover the exciting cultures of the contemporary Southwest as expressed by the best of today's artists.
